Craps
Craps is a game of chance that consists of placing bets on the result that will be obtained when throwing dice.
Description Craps
Craps evolved as a simplified version of the English game Hazard. Its origins are rather difficult to pinpoint, but they have been traced back to the Crusades, later being influenced by French players. What was to become the modern-day American version of the game was supposedly brought to New Orleans by a man named Bernard de Marigny, a politician and gambler who came from a family of wealthy Louisiana landowners. The game was originally known as crapaud (French for "toad" – in reference to how people would play it squatting on the ground or on the pavement) and it is said to owe its popularity to its street version, which was very popular with World War II soldiers.
