Rules of Mahjong Solitaire
How to play Mahjong Solitaire
Mahjong Solitaireis a single-playerboard gamewhich is based on the traditional matching game Mahjong. Although it can be played with a physical set, it is usually enjoyed in digital format on computers, and it provides a challenging experience, ideal for those looking for a strategic and entertaining gaming adventure.
Aim of the game
The goal of Mahjong Solitaire is to remove all the tiles from the board by matching them. You can only match tiles that are free, that is, without other tiles on top and with at least one side clear. The game ends when the board is empty.
Gameplay
There are 144 tiles, which in their traditional version are decorated with Chinese characters and symbols. However, in modern solitaire games, these tiles can present a variety of images. The tiles are placed face up to form a four-layer stack, known as "the turtle". There are several initial configurations that correspond to different levels of difficulty.
A tile is considered open and can therefore be paired, if it is not covered by other tiles and can be moved left or right without displacing other adjacent tiles.
The game ends with a win when all pairs of tiles have been removed from the board. It is lost if, in the end, there are no exposed pairs of tiles left that can be matched and removed.
