Description Omaha Hold 'em Poker
Omaha Holdem, or Omaha as it's known to its friends, is an addictive four card game where you only use two of them! Challenge accepted! To expand on this idea: Omaha Holdem, aka Omaha Hold 'em, aka just Omaha, is a community card poker game that shares similarities with Texas hold 'em. In Omaha Holdem, each player is dealt four cards and must form their best hand using exactly two of them, plus exactly three of the five community cards given. In casinos in the United States, the term "Omaha" can actually mean several poker games. The original game is also commonly known as "Omaha high". A high-low split version called "Omaha Hi-Lo", or even "Omaha eight-or-better" or "Omaha/8", is also known to be played. In Europe, when they talk about "Omaha", they usually mean the version with a pot-limit. This Pot-limit Omaha is called "PLO." That's a funny name for it, "PLO" — maybe we should change the name of the title into that... It's often said that Omaha is a game of "the nuts", since it takes "the nuts" to win a showdown. You know... walnuts!
